Request: support for more comics

I read a few comics that don’t appear inside of Tiny Tiny RSS and would love to see them supported like the others. The feeds that still force me to go to their website are:

Cheers

Those were the ones that showed up this morning, but I went through the rest of my subscriptions and found out there is a couple others that belong to this list:

af_comics has pluggable filters, you can make your own or ask someone here to help you

Sinfest

yikes

Why? … Just curious…

Maybe just a reaction to the June 3rd comic?

I tell ya, I vaguely remembered the comic’s name and looking back to its beginning, today’s Sinfest is not your granddad’s Sinfest.

i haven’t read it in years but its always mentioned in bad comics threads because of how literally insane its author has become

FYI, I created filters for Three Panel Soul and Pokey the Penguin, because they’re the two webcomics I follow for which images weren’t showing up in the articles:
TPS: https://git.tt-rss.org/fox/tt-rss/pulls/81
PTP: https://git.tt-rss.org/fox/tt-rss/pulls/82

Being a n00b at this, I didn’t manage to implement tag import for TPS (yet?).

Edit: Figured out how to do tag import.

just like third party plugins i think it would be better if you hosted those on github or something and created a thread in themes & plugins subforum.

this way interested people would easily find it and i won’t get stuck maintaining some code i’d never personally use. or not maintaining it and having broken stuff in my tree.

Huh? You could always pull it out of the tree if it breaks, and you’re not the only one who is able to maintain it since it’s open source.

why do that in the first place? i’m not putting all third party plugins in tt-rss master branch, it serves no purpose other than bloating up the tree.

that’s sadly not how this works in practice. in real world, some time later some guy will post on this forum about some comic not parsing properly because those change all the time and since it’s in my branch i’d have to go and take a look at it.

don’t get me the wrong way, it’s great that you’re contributing stuff, just try to understand that not everything necessarily belongs to the main repository. af_comics is easily extensible exactly for this reason - there’s million webcomics out there, adding everything to main branch is infeasible.

Is there a community maintained wiki directory of third-party stuff, or do people have to flounder around the forums to try to find stuff?

i think the forum thread approach is better and there’s no wiki where everyone gets write access so i suggest the T&P subforum: Themes and Plugins - Tiny Tiny RSS: Community

e: there’s also this page https://git.tt-rss.org/fox/tt-rss/wiki/Plugins btw, but i’m not really seeing how searching this page is better than searching the subforum.
