[Feature Request] Android app: Multiple accounts

Hi.

I have huge amount of feeds, and need that some feeds don’t disturb me until weekend. So, I separated that feeds by multiple accounts in ttrss, but it is always hard to switch account in android app. I want just choose saved account, and load feeds that related to it. Can this feature be implemented?

i think we’ve discussed a very similar issue a few weeks ago. anyway,

  1. i don’t think multiple accounts are necessary to solve your actual issue (not being disturbed) i would suggest using stuff like scoring instead
  2. adding something like that to the app would require serious code reorganization (+ android account-related stuff is a tiny nightmare) which is something that’s very unlikely to happen in general, i’m afraid.

Ok, I see. Thank you, for reply.

Some phones with Oreo have a feature called “Dual Apps” that lets you have two accounts for one app. If you search for “dual apps” in the Play Store, there are also some apps that can provide this feature, but I have no experience with them.

@Artur_Shaikhullin You could look into work profiles for Android, lets you run two copies of an app without logging in/out.

There is the Shelter app (basically the same as Test DSP) but there was a report of ads on it on google play so you could look at the f-droid version if that concerns you.

Personally I compiled Google’s Test DSP app and use it for facebook messenger but there is a copy available on google play https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.afwsamples.testdpc

I’ve heard good things about Island (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.oasisfeng.island). And of course if you have Samsung you get Knox/Secure Folder to do the same thing.
